On this 5 day Tanzania camping safari you will have 2 days in Tarangire National Park with its vast herds of elephants and majestic baobab trees before you continue to Lake Manyara national park for diverse landscapes and the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater, a bowed volcanic Caldera full of wild animals found along the Great Rift Valley.

Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport.

You will be met on arrival time usually at Kilimanjaro Airport if you arrive by international flight or in Arusha if you arrive by internal flight or shuttles bus from Nairobi or likewise. You will be escorted to waiting vehicle by our transferring driver who will then drive you to Arusha for the rest of the day your 5 Day Camping Safari will start the next day morning. Depending on your arrival time our safari guide will meet you at the hotel or airport for briefing on the next safari.

Day 2: Drive Arusha town to Tarangire National Park. 2 hours driving time.

We will pick you up in the morning and after a short safari briefing, you travel southwest towards the Tarangire National Park. The park has a diversity of landscapes including grass, acacia woodlands and forests and it is especially popular for its huge elephant herds and animals gathering at the river and swamps. Animals range from swarms of yellow breasted lovebirds to kudus, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and impalas. Predators include lions, leopards and hyenas, while wild dogs are rare. In the late afternoon you will leave the park to travel to a nearby campsite, where you will spend the night in tents.

Day 3: Drive inside Tarangire National Park for full day.

Today you will spend the full day inside Tarangire exploring the park from side to side. Tarangire is the third largest park in Northern Tanzania offering enough areas to cover and find animals. During dry season the animals gather at the river in search for water holes allowing time to see many animals for just short time. The picnic lunch will be served as you drive around the park and maximize the chances of seeing as many animals as possible.

Day 4: Drive out of Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park. 1 hour driving time.

After breakfast at your camp, you will leave the area around Tarangire National Park and drive via Mto wa Mbu town to the Lake Manyara National Park for full day animal sightings. Lake Manyara national park with its shallow alkaline lake stretches along the base of the Rift Valley wall. Lake Manyara attracts thousands of birds, including huge flocks of flamingos. Other animals in the park include buffaloes, elephants, hippos and Masai giraffes as well as troops of boisterous baboons and monkeys in the forests. The park once became famous for tree climbing lions and if you are lucky to spot them you will be amused by the site of these animals lounging on branches in the acacia trees. After a game drive in the park you will ascend to the Ngorongoro highlands, where you will overnight on a campsite situated on the crater’s edge with magnificent views of the caldera below.

Day 5: Driver into Ngorongoro Crater.

Go up and be good at! After an early breakfast at the campsite, you will drive 20 minutes down a steep trail into the crater floor. Its grass plains and acacia forests are home to almost all the species of animals found in the East African savannah. In only a few hours you might see all of the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, you will leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and travel to Mto wa Mbu, where you will spend the night in a tent on a campsite. 5 day Tanzania camping safari.

Day 6: Mto wa Mbu to Arusha. 2 hours driving time.

Tent with a view! This last night is spent on the Rift Valley wall with facing the lake Manyara national park. After a relaxing breakfast in your camp, you will start your journey back to Arusha, where you will arrive around midday. You will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice or at the airport for your next destination.
