Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport.

You will be met on arrival time usually at Kilimanjaro Airport if you arrive by international flight or in Arusha if you arrive by internal flight or shuttles bus from Nairobi or likewise. You will be escorted to waiting vehicle by our transferring driver who will then drive you to Arusha for the rest of the day your 7 Day Camping budget Safari will start the next day morning. Depending on your arrival time our safari guide will meet you at the hotel or airport for briefing on the next safari.
Accommodation: Out Post Lodge/Ilboru Safari Lodge.
Meal plan: Dinner.

Day 2: Drive Arusha town to Tarangire National Park. 2 hours driving time.

We will pick you up in the morning and after a short safari briefing, you travel southwest towards the Tarangire National Park. The park has a diversity of landscapes including grass, acacia woodlands and forests and it is especially popular for its huge elephant herds and animals gathering at the river and swamps. Animals range from swarms of yellow breasted lovebirds to kudus, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and impalas. Predators include lions, leopards and hyenas, while wild dogs are rare. In the late afternoon you will leave the park to travel to a nearby campsite, where you will spend the night in tents.

Day 3: Drive Tarangire national park to Lake Natron.

After breakfast you will leave Tarangire national park and drive to the multicultural village of Mto wa Mbu. From here you will travel on a spectacular and very bumpy gravel road along the Rift Valley Escarpment with Ol Doinyo Lengai “the holy mountain” of the Masai in the distance. Today’s destination is the typical Masai village of Ngare Sero in the hot and dusty Rift Valley. In the distance you might see a pink glow from flamingos breeding and feeding on the algae of the alkaline Lake Natron (seasonal and depending on water level). In the afternoon you will join a Masai guide on a walk to a nearby waterfall before you return to the campsite for your overnight.

Day 4: Drive Lake Natron to Serengeti National Park.

After an early start, you will travel along adventurous rough tracks with breath-taking views as your vehicle climbs out of the Rift Valley to reach the grassy plains of the Serengeti by midday. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Masai and you will see the grassland savannah stretching to the horizon. The Serengeti is the most famous park in Tanzania and it is home to the largest animal migration on the planet – hundreds of thousands of animals trek to find fresh grass and water. You will overnight at a campsite in the northern or central part of the park.

Day 5: Drive Serengeti National Park.

The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. You will either go on a full day game drive or join early morning and afternoon drives in the Seronera area, depending on last night’s stop. Between December and May huge herds of wildebeests and zebras will be seen, with calves and foals being born between January and March. The Seronera area is also the best place to spot the shy and nocturnal leopard. You will spend the night at a campsite in the Seronera area.

Day 6: Drive Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The morning is set aside for another game drive in the Serengeti and you might spot some creatures that you haven’t seen yet. Animals tend to be more active in the morning before the temperatures soar around midday. After lunch, you will leave the plains of the Serengeti and travel to the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will camp at a campsite directly on the Ngorongoro Crater’s edge with a view over the collapsed volcano. It is a perfect spot to enjoy a sundowner at sunset.
Accommodation: Simba campsite.
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 7: Driver into Ngorongoro Crater.

Go up and be good at! After an early breakfast at the campsite, you will drive 20 minutes down a steep trail into the crater floor. Its grass plains and acacia forests are home to almost all the species of animals found in the East African savannah. In only a few hours you might see all of the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, you will leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and travel to Mto wa Mbu, where you will spend the night in a tent on a campsite. 7 Day budget Camping Safari.

Day 8: Drive Mto wa Mbu to Arusha. 2 hours driving time.

Tent with a view! This last night is spent on the Rift Valley wall with facing the lake Manyara national park. After a relaxing breakfast in your camp, you will start your journey back to Arusha, where you will arrive around midday. You will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice or at the airport for your next destination.
