Unlike Europe, Tanzania does not have summer and winter time instead the country only experience the dry and rain months due to its closeness to Earth’s equator. Though one can climb Kilimanjaro at any time of the year the driest and warmest months are recommended for Kilimanjaro climbing as the cold weather is not suitable for trekking in such high peaks capped with heavy ice. The best Months are January, February and September which are also the busiest months on the mountain with clear skies therefore, making it possible to see Kilimanjaro summit in the mornings and evenings.

The end of March to early June is the rain season making it difficult for visibility due to heavy clouds covering the mountain. June, July, and August are good months for trekking Kilimanjaro but it is windy and colder on the top. September and October still the best, the short rains start from November to early of December.

The accommodation is in tents on the camping ground and Rongai route joins the Marangu route at Kibo huts and the descend is through the Marangu spending the last nights at Horombo huts with other climbers who trek up and down the Marangu so you can expect the crowned night at this camp. Kilimanjaro trekking time.
